Mr. Brook has been a RWB Board member since 2012, initially serving as a Director, and currently serving as Vice-President of the Board. He serves as a member of the District’s Compensation committee and as the RWB representative on the Summit Fire Authority Board.
Raised in Canada, he developed a love for the outdoors, mountains, and skiing. This led him to British Columbia where he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a hydro electric utility company. The international company assigned him to a Kansas City public utility where he served as a Vice President. Rekindling his passion for the mountains, he enjoyed many family ski trips to Colorado.
With a bachelor degree in business, a MBA, and a CPA, his career focus was primarily in finance and accounting at the corporate officer level. Mainly with electric and gas utility companies, his business skills include leadership, management, finance and accounting, and regulation expertise. His financial and analytic skills allow him to review District financial documents for accuracy and clarity. His background in public sector regulation fuels his commitment to provide transparency in the RWB operations and financial documents.
His personal values drive him to be active in his community. Using his “experience and skills to help make it a great place for all to live and enjoy”. This is exemplified by his 33 years of Rotary club service, currently Assistant District Governor; the Highlands at Breckenridge POA President for 10 years; and St John Episcopal Church Breckenridge leadership roles since 2006. He discloses “I’m with RWB because it provides great service to our community through truly dedicated staff who take pride in living our motto Courage, Caring, Commitment.”
Mr. Brook enjoys hands-on construction projects having built a log home in British Columbia, his current home in Breckenridge, and building a son's home in Blue River.
Married for over four decades, he cherishes his time with his 3 children and 3 grandchildren, all residing in Colorado.
