Ken Wiegand

Mr. Wiegand has been a RWB Board Member since January 2015.  He currently serves as the Board Secretary/Treasurer, and as a member of the RWB Investment and Audit committees. He represents RWB at the Summit County Wildfire Council.

He has a BS in Mathematics from Manhattan College, in Bronx, NY; a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California; and a Master of Arts in Behavioral Science from the Catholic University of America.

He retired as a Colonel, USAFR after 30 years active and reserve service as an Intelligence Officer in the Strategic Air Command, Pacific Air Forces in Southeast Asia, the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington DC, HQ U.S. Air Forces Europe in Germany, HQ U.S. Central Command, and HQ U.S. Space Command.  His final assignment was as the Reserve Air Attaché to the United Kingdom, US Embassy, London.

Mr. Wiegand has also had a consulting career of 27 years with the international consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, retiring as an Executive Vice President.  As a partner for 17 years, he led several National Security Agency accounts and for three years the National Security Team, a $1 billion annual business with over 40 Vice Presidents and approximately 5,000 staff.  His final role with Booz Allen was to build the Systems Engineering business.  Mr. Wiegand also served on the Booz Allen Board of Directors for a three-year period and served one-year terms on the firm's Audit, Finance, Personnel and Communications Committees. He has also served as a National Board member of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association.

His senior roles in the USAF and at Booz Allen positioned him to contribute analytical and system management experience and skills to the governance of the RWB District.  He approaches all organizational challenges from a multi-disciplinary perspective with the goal of providing proficient and timely emergency services for the Districts’ citizens and visitors.

Mr. Wiegand enjoys spending time with his wife and family, skiing, hiking, bicycling, and traveling.
