Current Fire Danger (updated 07/09/2020)

Fire Danger Very High
What does the fire danger mean?

The Fire District does not allow control (slash) burning from Memorial Day through Labor Day or when the fire danger is HIGH, VERY HIGH, or EXTREME.  A permit is required to have a control burn and can be applied for at https://www.communityconnect.io/info/co-breckenridge.

Recreational (camp) fires are allowed within unincorporated areas of Summit County and within the Towns of Breckenridge and Blue River, with a valid permit.  We would ask that you refrain from burning when the fire danger is HIGH, VERY HIGH, or EXTREME or when there is a Red Flag or Fire Weather advisory.
