RWB Kicks off 2011 “Fill The Boot” Campaign
Thursday, August 25, 2011 - Breckenridge, CO
The Red, White & Blue Fire District (RWB) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local #4325 is kicking off its 2011 “Fill the Boot” campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) the dates of September 2-5 (Labor Day weekend). The 2011 “Fill the Boot” fundraising goal for RWB Fire is $7,600. Last year RWB firefighters raised $4,170.
Firefighting personnel will be on duty and in-service while collecting funds for a great cause. RWB firefighters will be campaigning along Main Street as well as at City Market to solicit donations from motorists and pedestrians passing by in Breckenridge.
RWB Fire will also accept donations to the campaign at its front office at 316 N Main Street during business hours (8 AM - 4 PM) Monday, August 28 – Friday, September 2nd.
“The Red, White & Blue Fire District is happy to participate, once again, in this fundraiser to help the MDA offer vital services and support to those suffering from neuromuscular diseases,” said Fire Chief Lori Miller. “We believe $7,600 is an obtainable goal that the residents and guests of Breckenridge will help us achieve by filling the boot for MDA. All of the proceeds collected from the “Fill the Boot” campaign stay in Colorado, and help make a difference for those the Muscular Dystrophy Association serves.”
Since 1954, the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has raised nearly $300 million to support MDA’s mission and is the single-largest sponsor. As an IAFF member, the Red, White & Blue Fire District has significantly contributed to the funds raised for MDA year after year.
