Fire Stations

Station 6

(Main Station)

The Main Station rests in the central part of our response area. It is located on the north end of Main Street in the Town of Breckenridge. Station 6 is the most visible and the most toured station out of the three located in our District. It houses Truck 6, Tender 6, Squad 6 and Battalion 6. Administration and the Community Risk Management Division are also located here.

The roof above the 2nd floor offices (shown toward the right of the doors) is a deck offering amazing views of the ski area and the beautiful mountains we enjoy. Station 6 has traditionally been the busiest station in Summit County.

It houses Engine 4, Haz-Mat 4, Squad 4 and Wildland 4. The station is located at the intersection of Hwy. 9 and Tiger Road.

Station 7

(South Station)

Station 7 was remodeled in 1997 to provide housing for a student firefighter program. Currently, the station is a full-time, 24/7 response station housing the crew of Engine 7 and HazMat 7. Originally, the station was only the size of the bay doors shown in the picture.

Station 7 is located on the south end of our District and covers the Town of Blue River as well as unincorporated Summit County. Our District boundaries carry us up to the top of Hoosier Pass. This station receives several feet of snow every year and is nicknamed "The Ice House." Besides their involvement with the Blue River community, the crew enjoys an extra workout of high altitude snow shoveling.
