Current Fire Danger

Fire Danger High
What does the fire danger mean?

The Fire District does not allow control (slash) burning from Memorial Day through Labor Day or when the fire danger HIGH, VERY HIGH, or EXTREME.  A permit is required to have a control burn and can be obtain at our administrative office during normal business hours.

Recreational (camp) fires are allowed within unincorporated areas of Summit County and within the Town of Blue River (with a permit).  We would ask that you refrain from burning when the fire danger is HIGH, VERY HIGH, or EXTREME or when there is a Red Flag or Fire Weather advisory.  If you are located in the Town of Breckenridge, please contact the Town of Breckenridge at 970-453-2941 for specific requirements.
